Alexander Dennis is developing a range of powertrain technologies to suit the diverse needs of different bus routes. The Alexander Dennis Enviro 400H series hybrid has captured 43% of the hybrid market. The firm’s ‘Virtual Electric’ concept, a series hybrid with GPS-controlled zero-emissions capability and inductive charging, offers huge potential for air quality improvement in critical areas of cities, as well as greater CO2 savings. A Virtual Electric bus will commence trials in Glasgow later this year.
