News from Scania: The Scania Touring, which were launched across a number of European markets in 2009, is set for its UK debut. Featuring Scania’s highly fuel-efficient Euro-6 engine, the first examples will arrive in Great Britain towards the end of this year.
The Scania Touring is assembled on a dedicated production line in China, enabling it to maintain full control of all manufacturing and quality aspects. Since its launch, Scania has operated a number of Touring models itself, carrying personnel from the Stockholm area to the company’s headquarters and production centre in Södertälje. In this way, it has been able to gain first hand operational experience of the Touring, which in turn has been fed back to the development team in order to continuously improve the product.
“The Scania Touring is versatile, high quality, comfortable and quiet vehicle which is equally at home in the city or on long distance touring,” says Tony Tomsett, Bus, Coach and Engine Sales Director for Scania.
“Furthermore, the fact that this is a fully-built-up Scania product means that customers will benefit from a single point of contact when it comes to aftersales requirements. As such, we are confident the Scania Touring will soon establish itself as a firm favourite with Great Britain’s coach operators.”
