MAN’s goodwill spreads as it secures repeat business

News from MAN: Tautliner and bulk haulage specialist, Cooper Buckley Ltd, has taken delivery of three new Euro 6-powered MAN TGX 26.480BLS 6×2 tractor units. The company reports that MAN’s goodwill has gone a long way to securing repeat business, over and above anything provided by its competitors.

With MAN making up 75% of the Cooper Buckley fleet since the introduction of the marque in 2010, these latest Euro 6 models follow two Euro-5 MAN TopUsed tractor units acquired in October last year. The Cooper Buckley fleet now totals 35.

The new vehicles are acquired as fleet replacements and are already in service on the Cooper Buckley’s ongoing contract with a leading oats and breakfast cereal producer. Despite the trucks only just hitting the road, Cooper Buckley has said it is very pleased with initial fuel returns of 8.0 mpg for its maximum weight bulk operations, which consists of taking oat-feed to farms and returning raw oats back to processing plants.

“We’re very pleased with initial fuel economy,” said Managing Director, Frank Buckley, “and we expect figures to improve over time. We also have a half-tonne extra payload compared to another truck manufacturer’s same-specification model we were considering.

“But it is the goodwill from MAN and the outstanding back-up from our local MAN dealer, Beech’s Garage in Stoke-on-Trent that sets MAN apart. We have only used MAN for a few years,” he said, “but no other manufacturer has been prepared to forge such a close working relationship with us; a relationship that is tailored to our very specific needs.”
