Leicester-based transport company, Premier Logistics, has purchased eight used Renault Premium tractor units, the first Renault trucks to join the company’s Mercedes-dominated fleet of 80 vehicles. Supplied by approved Truckplus used dealer, Renault Trucks Coventry, the five Renault Premium 460.25 6×2 DXi and three Renault Premium 450.25 6×2 DXi, all with Optidriver+ automated gearboxes are Truckplus Premium Selection vehicles, with a 12 months manufacturer’s driveline warranty and low mileage at less than 300,000km.
The Euro-5 Premiums are working on Premier Logistics’ 24/7 trunking operation, delivering across the UK on various contracts and are each expected to cover between 150,000 and 175,000km per annum.
Commenting on the decision to bring the first Renault trucks onto the fleet, Premier Logistics’ Managing Director, Lee Christopher, said, “We looked for low mileage quality used trucks that will give us good flexibility run over three years. The Premiums will be maintained at Premier Logistics’ new in-house vehicle maintenance facility based at their new 12 acre, headquarters in Bardon accommodating over 200,000 sq. ft. warehousing and based conveniently just of Junction 22 of the M1.
