Graham Poole Transport has taken delivery of a new Euro-6 MAN TGX 26.440BLS 6×2 tractor unit complete with XXL cab in a one-off ‘cerise’ livery. The truck, named ‘Kelly’s Dreams’, features spectacular hand-painted artwork commissioned in memory of Managing Director Graham Poole’s niece, Kelly (Hancock) Walsh, who sadly lost her life to cancer in 2013.
On the strength of performance from this new acquisition, a further TGX 26.440 BLS 6×2 unit has already been ordered for October delivery.
“The truck was painted pink which was Kelly’s favourite colour,” said Graham Poole, “and decorated in artwork in memory of Kelly, her two girls and their favourite Disney characters.
“Kelly was cared for at home by Springhill Hospice during her illness,” he said, “and I cannot praise the people there highly enough. We decided to stage a family fun-day earlier this year to raise money for what is a fantastic charitable organisation. Afterwards, I was delighted to present the Hospice with a cheque for over £4,000.”
Graham Poole Transport is no stranger to MAN after having taken two MAN TopUsed vehicles through MAN Truck & Bus Manchester last year. Two further MAN TopUsed vehicles followed more recently – all were acquired with MAN R&M contracts and financed through MAN Financial Services.
“And we’re in the market for more MANs” continued Poole, “Fuel consumption has been excellent, with figures of over 10.0mpg regularly returned from the older units. I’m hoping for even better figures from the new Euro 6 machine. The drivers absolutely love them, too” he said, “and I’m really pleased with the switch to MAN.”
The latest Euro-6 TGX is acquired on a five-year Finance Lease through MAN Financial Services. Graham Poole Transport boasts a diverse business portfolio including GPT Logistics a pallet network distribution operation and Rochdale LGV Driver Training; an LGV driver training company. The haulage business features a
28-strong fleet of trucks 54,000sq.ft of warehousing.
