News from Trapeze: Traveline Scotland delivered a successful passenger information project to support the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The event passed off without any significant passenger information issues – largely due to careful planning process which saw additional hardware and human resources deployed to accommodate the increased demand for information.

During the games more than 2.2 million individual customer contacts took place across all Traveline Scotland channels. This included 950,000 journey plans created from the website and a further 420,000 from Traveline Scotland’s mobile apps.

Despite significantly increased traffic and demands on the infrastructure, during the games Traveline Scotland reported uptime of 100% for its call center and 99.97% for the website.

John Elliot, Chief Executive of Traveline Scotland, said, “We played a small part in what has been a fantastic success for Glasgow and Scotland. We would not have delivered without the help and co-operation of Trapeze, who worked miracles for us; Transport Operators (and especially First Glasgow who were superb); Transport Scotland; SPT and Teleperformance.”

Peter Bell, Managing Director of Trapeze Group in the UK, added, “We are proud to have supported the efforts of Traveline Scotland in delivering passenger information so successfully during such an intense period.”
