The DVLA has cut the cost of obtaining a tachograph card following a public consultation.

The card will now cost £32, down from £38. It is part of a package of measures that the Agency claims will save commercial fleet operators and the motoring public alike a total of £150m over the next decade.

Fees for applying for, or renewing a driving licence have also been cut by 32%.

Transport Minister Claire Perry said, “Thanks to DVLA making large scale savings to its running costs [the government] will save drivers and businesses £150 million over the next 10 years.”

The changes took effect on Friday, 31 October.
