The London Motor Museum, is launching a new eatery for visitors to relish – the Burger Bus Stop.
Serving an automotive-themed range of gourmet burgers, the 1980s Leyland Olympian bus-turned-restaurant is a welcome addition to the museum.
Originally belonging to East Yorkshire, the bus was sold in 2007 to Stephensons of Essex in 2007 before being sold again to Seaford and District where it worked on rail replacement duties before eventually being withdrawn and sold to the museum earlier in 2014.
The Hayes-based collection features over 200 cars ranging from European classics and supercars, to American muscle cars and even stars of the silver screen.
Museum owner Elo and his team took the Brighton and Hove vehicle from classic mode of transportation to retro diner in his London Supercar Workshop.
Elo explained: “We were keen to offer our visitors an eating experience with a difference, that continues the historic motoring feel of the museum exhibitions.
“It was a great opportunity for me and my team to try something new, turning the lower deck into a kitchen, while decorating the upper deck in a pop art style to create a colourful yet classic dining area.”
The menu will feature four burgers, Cadillac, Roadrunner, Mopar and Eco, in addition to a regularly changing chef’s special.
