Ford is on track to complete 50 consecutive years of UK commercial vehicle sales leadership, according to figures from The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
In what was a positive January for overall UK commercial vehicle registrations, sales of Ford CVs increased by 27.9 per cent to 6,481 compared with January 2014. Light commercial sales increased from 604 to 1,740, and the firm’s LCV share grew from 12.3 per cent to 25.5 per cent.
Mark Ovenden, Ford of Britain’s Chairman and Managing Director, said the strong start to 2015 is the result of “continued investment in exciting products and industry-leading technologies”.
Ford Transit has led the UK CV sector since its launch in 1965, with the Fiesta Van, Transit Courier, Transit Connect, Transit Custom, Transit and Ranger all placed in the top three of their respective markets.
