Hyundai hopes to muscle in on the European commercial vehicle market after announcing plans to invest nearly £1.2 billion into its commercial vehicle arm.
The plans will also see the South Korean manufacturer expand its commercial vehicle offering in the United States, in an effort to catch up with rivals.
Hyundai has earmarked investment to increase production of vans, trucks and buses in Korea by 2020, and also sidelined money for research and development until the end of the decade.
The firm’s H350 light commercial vehicles could be the first on the roads in Europe, with production beginning in Turkey this month.
