Leading London construction services provider, S Walsh and Sons, has diversified its fleet to include 25 Renault Range Cs, the first to join its 40-strong line-up.
Renault beat four rivals to the deal thanks to its vehicle features and performance as well as a comprehensive repair and maintenance contract.
The 32-tonne range C430 8x4s are fitted with Fruehauf lightweight steel tipper bodies. The new Range Cs will make deliveries to construction sites in London and Essex, including Rainham, Pitsea and East Tilbury.
Senior Transport Manager Nathan Hopgood said, “Our business is growing at a rapid pace, and we needed some seriously robust construction vehicles that are up to the job. To keep up with the increasing demand we decided to try a different make of truck. We chose Renault based on the overall deal, including the R&M contract for five years with four-weekly inspections.
“I also really liked the look of the lorry. It looks more robust than the others which is exactly what we need for the work we do. We’ve had a Range C demonstrator and the driver is really impressed so far; he particularly likes the seat position as well as the cab space and interior. He also thinks it’s more robust and has a high ground clearance which is essential for tipper work.”
