Ford posted the UK’s best-ever monthly commercial vehicle registrations in March with a total of 16,497 units.
In retaining its position as the UK market leader, the manufacturer broke its own record of 15,503 registrations in September last year.
SMMT figures show that Ford’s first quarter CV registrations are up by 43% compared to the same period in 2014.
Mark Ovenden, Ford of Britain Chairman and Managing Director, said, “Sales gain a massive boost in March thanks to the number plate change, and this March has seen Ford’s best-ever car and CV ranges deliver a stellar sales performance.”
Ford’s light commercial registrations grew from 1,778 in March 2014 to 3,755 in March 2015, while its medium commercial registrations went from 10,019 to 13,449. Fiesta Van, Transit Courier, Transit Connect, Transit Custom, Transit and Ranger are all placed in the top three in their respective market segments.
