Falkirk-based plant hire specialist Lomond Plant Group has seen fuel costs plummet after ordering a new tri-axle step frame from Andover Trailers.
Fitted with the company’s fold forward ramps, which are proven to improve fuel efficiency by approximately one mile per gallon, it’s the first Andover-built trailer to enter the fleet – although Lomond has already placed an order for another.
Ross Easton, Joint Managing Director at Lomond, said, “We recently opened a new depot in Merseyside and the new trailer has been pivotal to the success of this operation from the start.
“We are currently running 50 excavators in the north west, so we need a trailer we can rely on to have our plant in the right place at the right time. Trailer utilisation has been high since day one, and the Andover step frame has performed brilliantly.”
The trailer will be on the road up to six days a week and will be partnered with a Scania R580 Topline tractor
