DAF Trucks dealer group Imperial Commercials has opened a new service and parts facility near junction 15 of the M4 motorway near Swindon, replacing its nearby Britannia Trade Park site.

The new 2.2-acre site includes a 1,180m² workshop, nine 20m truck bays and parking for 25 trucks and trailers. Additional services include ATF truck and PSV MoT test-lane accreditation, Pet. Peg bay and a tachograph centre, plus new equipment throughout.

The new location offers improved facilities and an easy-access location for operators. All existing staff will relocate to the new facility and recruitment for additional HGV technicians is also under way.

The move represents a £2.74 million investment by Imperial Commercials, which now has six DAF dealerships in the region and 16 locations across the UK.

David Lewis, Regional Director at Imperial Commercials said, “Our new premises will see a significant service uplift for our customers – not least because of Dorcan’s proximity to the M4 motorway. Our new facilities provide a one stop solution for truck operators, with equipment and services more associated with our larger locations. Our ATF lane, Pet.Reg. and tacho capabilities significantly boost our service offering. We’ve also extended our range of all makes TRP truck and trailer parts to compete for new business.”

The site will have extended opening hours and two-hour parts delivery.

Greta Archer, DAF Franchise Manager, added, “Operators can look forward to the highest service levels – a 95% MoT first-time pass rate across the network, with all our dealers carrying out quality audits on more than 25% of workshop inspections to ensure standards are maintained.”
