Wrightbus has announced the development of its ‘Electrocity’ range with the aim of bringing low-emission solutions to urban public transport during the next decade.
Two projects, called StreetLite and StreetDeck, have been designed with integral chassis platforms capable of being powered by hybrid or pure electric systems, as well as conventional diesel in combination with micro-hybrid technology.
Electrocity is compatible with single deck models and comprises a choice of three “inter-operable” green technology platforms: induction power transfer (IPT), conduction charging via rapid charge pantograph and hybrid power with EV mode and range extender (for overnight charging). Double deck platforms are available with two options, IPT and rapid charge.
Wrightbus will provide all Electrocity customers with advice and support from the company’s dedicated driveline business.
