Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK’s eco-plant aspirations

01 July 2015 #Sustainability Case studies

TMMUK’s aim is to be recognised as a sustainable manufacturer by creating an eco-plant in an ecological park. Toyota is tackling three core issues: resource depletion, climate change and biodiversity loss. Toyota has a long-term aim to reduce emissions to a sustainable or zero level at sustainable cost.

It has already cut absolute energy by a third and VOC emissions to a quarter of original levels. Reducing the cost base also enhances competitiveness. It is also sharing best practice – the ‘Yokoten’ methodology. Toyota is moving towards being an eco-plant, building eco-products by eco-minded employees.
