FIAT scores an ‘A’ for deliveries

FIAT Professional has supplied 32 new Doblò vehicles to plant and equipment hire company A-Plant Hire, specifically designed for optimal performance in congested urban areas.

The 22 Doblò Cargo vans and 10 Doblò Work Up pickup vehicles were supplied by dealer Walton Summit in Preston. This order brings the overall number of vehicles supplied by FIAT Professional to A-Plant to 123 since 2007, with a total value of over £1 million.

The Doblò Work Up pickup vehicles operate in the London area and are equipped with special lightweight tail-lifts, installed in the UK by Fosters Commercials, Preston. These lifts have a minimal impact on the overall vehicle payload, thus enabling the vehicles to deliver and collect larger or awkwardly proportioned pieces of equipment in congested areas where larger vehicles would struggle.

The vans photographed feature a Survey Hire Express livery, a division of A-Plant which provides surveying equipment to construction companies, civil engineers, surveyors and utilities organisations.

Shaun Winstanley, A-Plant Director of Transport, said, “Getting our equipment delivered to where it’s needed and at the time we’ve promised the customer is critical and to do that we need a fleet of vehicles that are capable, versatile and dependable. The FIAT Doblò fits the bill perfectly because it manages to offer extremely low running costs and a substantial payload within its compact shape.”
