Fleet services company Fraikin is entering the UK trailer rental market with a fleet of 200 curtainside trailers.
Fraikin is already a strong competitor in the LCV and truck rental markets. The trailers being deployed for the new rental programme were previously supplied to failed courier company City Link, and have been refurbished and fitted with new curtains. Many of the trailers are near-new, having been supplied to City Link not long before the company collapsed just before Christmas last year.
The trailers are a mix of single-deck tri-axle and double-deck models, predominantly built by Cartwright and Lawrence David. The double-deck trailers feature a load restraint system which complements the already accredited EN12642XL chassis and body to protect any goods in transit, whilst the wrap-around curtains ensure safer and more efficient loading and unloading of goods.
Mark Newnes, Operations Director at Fraikin, said, “This is an exciting opportunity to expand our rental portfolio. There is strong demand for quality single-deck and double-deck trailers and we’ll be making them available over short and long-term rental periods.
“We’ve elected to open this new branch in Northampton as this area offers significant opportunity and growth.”
