After reorganising its medium and heavy truck brands under the Volkswagen Truck and Bus banner earlier this year, the company has now completed its management appointments for the new division with two final appointments.

Matthias Gründler has been appointed CFO, moving across from a similar position at Daimler Truck and Bus, where he had progressed through the ranks since first joining in 1989.

Lars Stenqvist heads up Research and Development for the new division, with cross-divisional responsibility for both the Scania and MAN brands. He has worked for Scania since 1992, becoming Senior Vice President of Vehicle Definition and Product Quality in 2007.

Andreas Renschler, CEO of Volkswagen Truck and Bus, set out the company’s plans. “We want to create a global champion with our truck holding. That is why it is important for us to unite excellent, international and integrative personalities in our lean team.” The managers have extensive experience in the commercial vehicles industry. They will move into the holding’s headquarters in Brunswick – located close to the Volkswagen Group – at the end of this year and will network with the brand locations in Munich, Södertälje and São Paulo.

“The holding will provide focused and efficient management of the Volkswagen Group’s truck business. We will bring the units closer together, intensify the global presence and strengthen our brands. Everyone, above all our customers, will benefit from that.”
