Domestic demand drove growth in UK engine output for the 10th consecutive month in October, as multi-billion pound investments in plants to serve Britain’s resurgent vehicle manufacturing sector continue to be realised. However, with more than half of all engines built here still exported, it is vital that the competitive conditions that have driven this sector’s success – and that of the vehicle manufacturing sector on which it relies – are secured for the future.
