The Freight Transport Association’s Everywoman in Transport & Logistics awards are now open for entries. The awards recognise excellence in freight, infrastructure, supply chain, passenger, warehousing and an overall champion of the industry.
The organisers have cited the UK’s exit from the EU as a potential cause of a “huge gap” in the workforce, making the need to attract skilled workers higher than ever, with the awards serving as an inspiration to the next generation of female talent to embark upon a career in transport and logistics.
The 2018 awards see the introduction of a new category, for men who are advancing the progress of women working in the field, titled ‘male agent of change’.
David Wells, chief executive of the Freight Transport Association, said, “FTA is delighted to once again sponsor the Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards to recognise the women really driving change and acting as role models in a wide range of roles, and to showcase the opportunities that exist for the next generation to join this vibrant area of a sector, which underpins every aspect of modern life.”
Nominations are open until February 12, with the winners announced at a ceremony in London on June 14.
