Mitsubishi Motors in the UK has given debuts to two new models at this year’s CV Show, unveiling the Shogun Sport Commercial and the L200 Barbarian SVP II for the first time.
The Shogun Sport Commercial is based on the brand-new Shogun Sport passenger car which goes on sale in May, with the commercial version designed and sold exclusively in the UK. Benefitting from the advanced technology and luxurious features of the standard car, the Shogun Sport Commercial offers a generous load area of 1,500 litres combined with the ability to tow up to 3,100kg braked.
Fully-equipped for the commercial user, the Shogun Sport Commercial features a six-inch bulkhead for insulation and security, with a completely flat floor and bonded carpet behind the front seats, which feature electric adjustment and heating. A further security measure is the fitment of opaque rear side windows, with the option of switching to steel versions.
Powered by an all-aluminium 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine, the Shogun Sport Commercial is also fitted with a brand-new eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard as well as Mitsubishi’s Super Select II four-wheel-drive system.
The L200 Barbarian SVP II is the second limited-edition model produced by Mitsubishi Motors in the UK’s Special Vehicle Projects division, with just 250 examples produced for the UK market. Half are finished in pearlescent Diamond Black paint with the other half in metallic Atlantic Grey, with details highlighted in orange. Powered by the same 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine as the Shogun Sport, the L200 SVP II can be specified with a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission with Super Select 4WD as standard.
