Automotive giant Toyota has set out an ambitious growth plan for its European LCV business.
Spearheaded by a new brand, Toyota Professional, the major market offensive will be driven by an expanded and strengthened model line-up.
This will include the new Toyota Proace City, set to go on sale early next year, alongside the Proace medium duty van (MDV), Hilux pick-up and Land Cruiser Utility Commercial.
The introduction of Proace City, which will sit in the compact van (CDV) segment, will expand Toyota’s coverage to more than two-thirds of the European LCV market.
Crucial to the growth plans will be the introduction of all-electric versions of the Proace and Proace City – developed in collaboration with Groupe PSA – from 2020.
Matt Harrison, Toyota Motor Europe executive vice president, said, “The expansion and electrification to Toyota Motor Europe’s LCV product range will be supported by new Toyota Professional branding. This highlights Toyota’s commitment to its growing number of LCV customers and includes a dedicated network to ensure we deliver the right customer experience.”
