DHL has taken delivery of its 10,000th electric StreetScooter van after the 9,999 models already on its fleet clocked up more than 100 million km – enough for 13 trips to the moon and back.
StreetScooter is a subsidiary of Deutsche Post and its vehicles are used by sister company DHL to make climate-friendly, low-noise mail and parcel deliveries across Germany.
According to the company, the use of StreetScooter models allows it to save 36,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.
Increased usage of the model has been supported by the installation of more than 13,500 charging stations across its depots and delivery bases.
