Maritime Transport has embarked on a major expansion of its fleet as it seeks to bolster its offering and support its growth in the road-rail sector.
The leading transport container company has ordered 330 new generation trucks from long-standing supplier Scania, with 260 vehicles due to entre service by the end of the year and the remainder due in 2020.
Fulfilled by Scania’s dealer for East Anglia, TruckEast, the Scania order comprises 30 410-horsepower R 410 4×2 models, and 300 450-horsepower R 450 6×2/2 mid-lift units. All 330 trucks will be equipped with Highline cabs and Scania’s fully-automated Opticruise gear-selection system.
