Clipper Logistics has promoted Stefan Van-Hoof from group COO to group deputy CEO and has also promoted Martin O’Grady from senior operations director to group COO, with responsibility for Clipper’s UK and European businesses.

Van-Hoof, who will report to group CEO Tony Mannix, was previously managing director of Clipper’s European business.

He joined Clipper in 2016 from DocData where he was MD of the company’s operations in Germany and Poland, where he oversaw nine warehouses.

Clipper Logistics said O’Grady brings to the role his experience in a wide range of supply chain and third-party logistics companies, with a focus on productivity-related technology development and roll-out.

His previous roles include group operations director with 2020 Logistics, part of the Caudwell Group, and in e-commerce with The Hut Group.

O’Grady currently leads Clipper’s NHS PPE operations.

Steve Parkin, Clipper Logistics’ executive chairman, said, “The board is delighted to make these senior appointments. Both Stefan and Martin are business managers of the highest quality, steeped in international supply chain and e-commerce experience.

“The appointments reflect the continuing ambition of Clipper to deliver agile and able world-class logistics services to its fast-growing client base around the globe.”

The announcement of the two promotions comes after the company was recognised as a Top 30 UK logistics provider by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). The list recognises those organisations who best exemplify excellence and has been formed by assessing a range of key criteria.

Tony Mannix, group CEO, said, “The recognition by CILT of the work undertaken by Clipper Logistics is very pleasing. We have created a great business, with an outstanding team of people, all with a passion for retail supply chain, and have been able to create partnerships with large global players and smaller emerging brands.”
