The new MAN TGX has been announced as the International Truck of The Year 2021 by a judging panel of 24 journalists. In an online award ceremony, the truck was praised for offering advanced driving comfort, working and living conditions, safety, fuel efficiency, connectivity, and ergonomics.
Andreas Tostmann, chief executive officer at MAN Truck & Bus, said, “The title is tremendous recognition for the outstanding work put in by our team at MAN. For more than five years now, the team has been working with a single objective in mind: to develop the best truck for drivers and our customers. This coveted award just goes to show: we did it!”
The jury of 24 journalists from European truck titles were impressed by the TGX’s modern ergonomics and intuitive technology that supports the driver. In testing, the truck also delivered an 8.2% increase in fuel efficiency when compared to the outgoing model. Safety systems such as radar-based turn assist and lane change support systems were also positively received.
Gianenrico Griffini, International Truck of The Year president, said in summary, “The new MAN TGX represents a major step forward in terms of driver comfort, fuel efficiency, connectivity and human-machine interface. It is a future-orientated truck that meets the transport needs of today and tomorrow.”
