A new textile treatment from Camira StaySafe is able to reduce the potential transmission risk of viruses from fabrics. The treatment has been independently tested to ISO 18184 and AATCC 147 and shown to reduce viral activity on wool moquette fabrics, as used in bus and coach interiors, by 97%.

The UK-based company stated that the treatment attracts, attacks and destroys viruses and bacteria to ensure that upholstery is not a potential source of transmission. It has been developed for use in busy, multi-occupancy public transport settings and uses a combination of silver and liposome technologies.

Amanda Heeley, Camira StaySafe director of operations and quality, said, “Available on our popular plush wool moquette fabrics, Camira StaySafe provides incredibly high anti-viral and anti-bacterial effectiveness and, during a time in which hygiene and health are of critical concern, this has never been more important. The product of rigorous research and independent testing, the new textile treatment is a true testament to the knowledge and expertise of our team.”
