Air quality, electrification and international business opportunities on the road to zero

11 March 2021 #Uncategorised

There continues to be a lot of debate on decarbonisation, but this year we see air quality returning to the top of the agenda as social distancing restrictions begin to lift. This month sees the Clean Air Zone (CAZ) in Bath come into effect, closely followed by Birmingham in June. Oxford is considering rolling out a zero-emission zone by 2025, but interestingly Sheffield may cancel its plans, following air quality improvements delivered as a result of Euro 6 technology.

On the subject of emissions reductions, SMMT Electrified International Week will take place 22 – 25 March, ahead of the main SMMT Electrified conference. A range of virtual events focusing on overseas markets and the opportunities available when it comes to electrification, the week will cover in-depth introductions to major and emerging regions and countries for automotive, including Central and Eastern Europe, China, Germany, Israel, Mexico, Thailand, and USA.
