Go-Ahead has signed a five-year contract with transport app and website provider Passenger, to deliver 15 apps and six websites to the group. Passenger has experience of delivering PCI-compliant mobile ticketing apps, network management and real-time systems.
According to Go-Ahead, customers will be able to buy tickets on the web and use them instantly, easing the route planning process and aiding contactless transactions as the country continues to recover from Covid. The company stated that Brighton & Hove Bus customers will also benefit from integrated services such as access to payment history and mobile ticketing from its new Passenger app and website. Business accounts will begin rolling out later in the year.
Go-Ahead’s chief strategy and customer officer, Katy Taylor, said, “We already have close to 1 million users of our mobile apps and we hope to see that increase as Passenger help us welcome customers back after the pandemic. Our new five-year partnership will help us to build on this success across all our UK bus companies.”
