On Monday I headed out for my usual evening walk, and stopping on Spiney Hill Bridge, I looked down at stationary traffic on the M25. Over a year since I have seen that, and it bought back almost fond memories: normally of course, I would be sitting in it.
Most likely an aberration but nonetheless a sign of creeping normality as restrictions are eased in due course. Data from the Department for Transport shows that truck movements are above pre-pandemic levels with vans not so far behind, both reflecting the level of business confidence I hear when talking to members. The government’s roadmap for emerging out of lockdown and the continuing vaccination rollout should hopefully provide some certainty for better times ahead.
