As one of the UK’s leading trade associations the SMMT has relationships with a broad range of political, industrial, and academic stakeholders. For the commercial vehicle, bus and coach sectors, we’re working closely with DVSA, DVLA and VCA to build back even better in a post-pandemic world.
We have recently seen publication of their business plans for 2021 – 2022. Not surprisingly, the focus is on restoring services to pre-Covid levels. For our sectors, it’s critical to get the vehicle registration, MoT, and IVA testing services not just back to where they were, but more efficient. We will be working closely with the DVSA on the development and roll out of their new Commercial Vehicle Service, including a series of business-wide wholesale software changes to boost efficiency.
