TNB speaks to Alan Able, head of sales at Isuzu UK, about the importance of the CV Show to the manufacturer

Why is the CV Show important to you?
The CV Show is one of the pivotal shows in our event calendar each year and very important to showcase the Isuzu D-Max range to business and fleet buyers.

We often utilise the show for new vehicle launches and to meet with business partners, customers and prospects. The CV Show promotes our range in a professional manner to professionals in the industry. As a brand Isuzu are the Pick-Up Professionals, the CV Show chimes perfectly with us for that reason.

What are you highlighting/showcasing at the show this year?
This year we will be showcasing The All-New Isuzu D-Max range on the stand. This was only recently launched and has already had a fantastic reception. We will be focusing on our Business Range but will also have All-Purpose and Adventure models on display. Alongside this we will also be offering Off-Road test drives at the show to attendees who want to discover the All-New Isuzu D-Max Off-Road capabilities for themselves. People just need to register on our stand and book in for their test drive. This has proved hugely popular in the past and with the new model available to test we are expecting an even larger take up.

What is your favourite CV Show memory?
There are quite a few to choose from but my favourite CV Show memory was the look on the journalists and fleet customers faces when our lunchtime offering was sushi! Especially as many were still associating us with Isuzu Truck – a separate entity – and would be used to their pie and mash!

What’s your advice for anyone attending the show for the first time?
Either review the show map or just look around the show and familiarise yourself where everyone is. Plus you’ll soon discover the breadth of stands that are available. You can then assess those stands where you want to visit for longer and plan your route around the show. If you’re interested in a new pick-up, visit the Isuzu stand and try the off-road capabilities for yourself!

What are your anticipated highlights for this year?
As we are coming out of a very difficult period with lockdowns the highlight for me this year will be the fact the physical show is back. I think there will be pent up demand with business people desperate for some normality and the CV Show is big a part of this. It is going to be great being back and being part this prestigious event yet again. From an Isuzu perspective, with our new range and off-road course I am looking forward to a very well-attended show and a busy stand! It’s great to be back out there.
