Chris Batterbee, MD at Locks 4 Vans, tells TNB about how the company is using the CV Show to promote its van security products

Why is the CV Show important to you?

The CV Show is regarded as the UK’s premier commercial vehicle showcase with a strong international base. We have exhibited every year since 2006 and see it as our key public platform to not only meet new customers but re-enforce long standing relationships. We value the opportunity to not only share our new ideas but to explore solutions from other leading suppliers in the automotive industry.

What are you highlighting/showcasing at the show this year?

Locks 4 Vans is renowned for the award-winning product range we deliver for LCVs, and we will have a wide range of locking and shielding solutions on display.  We are also looking forward to showcasing our less well-known products for the logistics sector such as our range of security solutions for HGVs and electric cargo bikes to support last mile deliveries. Additionally, as the appointed security partner for manufacturer LEVC, we are proud to have the new VN5 vehicle on our stand to demonstrate our bespoke security solutions for this electric vehicle.

What is your favourite CV Show memory?

Memories to be more accurate! Having worked in the commercial vehicle sector for 40 odd years, nothing beats being able to catch up with old colleagues, friends and customers during the event. There is a real buzz at this show and this is an aspect that always stays with me.

What’s your advice for anyone attending the show for the first time?

It is all about the planning. This is a huge exhibition so ensure you get to visit the stands that are really important to you, as intending to ‘visit a stand later’ probably won’t happen. Try to get refreshments outside of busy times to reduce queuing!

What are your anticipated highlights for this year?

I am really looking forward to seeing the evolution of products since the last show, in particular the advancements to electric vehicles and green initiatives. There will be so much innovation under one roof, and this will definitely get my team thinking and feeding ideas back to our R&D centre. I’m also looking forward to understanding the latest stance on the decarbonisation plan for HGVs, and I’m keen generally to discover the new technologies underpinning the industry. For me, this will be a long-awaited opportunity to actually connect with people face-to-face, and I know my team are extremely excited to be on hand to share the many product developments we have been working on. Seeing them deliver the knowledge and service we are renowned for is very rewarding.
