TNB speaks to Andrew Jago, general manager fleet and business at Land Rover about the firm’s return to the CV Show
Why is the Commercial Vehicle Show important to Land Rover?
The 2021 Commercial Vehicle Show is one of the first major events to exhibit the full range of Land Rover Commercial Vehicles. We are looking forward to showcasing our latest products to visitors and meeting new and existing customers in a face-to-face environment. The timing of the show also coincides with several competitor brands exiting the pickup market. We are generating a high volume of new business from traditional pickup buyers, who are attracted by Land Rover’s unrivalled combination of on-road comfort and extreme off-road capability, 3.5 tonne towing capacity and secure interior storage of tools and equipment.
What is Land Rover highlighting/showcasing at the show this year?
We will exhibit the critically acclaimed New Defender 90 and 110 Hard Top variants and updated Discovery Commercial. Demand for our products is at record levels and we expect the Land Rover stand to be particularly popular at the show. Our team of advisors will be available to present our vehicles and answer customer questions relating to our products, funding options and our specialist network of Fleet & Business Centres.
What is your favourite CV Show memory (as an individual or company)?
Land Rover last attended the show in 2008, which pre-dates my time with the brand! The debut of Defender Hardtop at this year’s show is a milestone for Land Rover and will be the first opportunity for many customers to experience this ground-breaking new entrant to the commercial vehicle market.
What’s your advice for anyone attending the show for the first time?
The Commercial Vehicle Show is a unique opportunity to compare a wide range of products in the market simultaneously. The show is occupying two halls this year, so there will be plenty of exhibitors for visitors to experience. Comfortable shoes are a must! Land Rover is located in Hall 4 and we look forward to welcoming visitors to our stand.
What are your anticipated highlights for this year?
We know from recent live events that many customers are keen to talk to us and evaluate our new range of products. The return of Land Rover to the show has already generated a lot of interest and I have no doubt that we will be kept busy with enquiries and product presentations over the three days. Live seminars are taking place throughout the event, which will be highly informative for fleet operators and decision makers.
