Tell us about Modul-System van racking products and conversions?
Our module-based van racking solutions are very flexible and can be completely customised to meet the exact needs of a fleet, using products off the shelf. Customers can create a completely customised design based on standard products and we can also accommodate complex conversions through our production facility and network of conversion partners. Also, we will source the ancillary items customers need to complete their conversions. We work closely with major vehicle manufacturers, and have collaborated with LEVC to develop conversions for its VN5 electric van. It has been an excellent opportunity for Modul-System and something we have really enjoyed being involved with. We provided conversions for the VN5 prototype trial fleet that has been used by a range of businesses.

What other products do you offer?
Modul-System has a range of items in stock including roof racks and bars as well as safety products such as locks and safety lockers to window grills, electric locking systems and catalytic converter locks. We provide high-quality graphics, and can help customers through the process of design, print and application. By ordering the graphics through us, they can be applied alongside a conversion. We also provide telematics and fleet management software and have a network of service centres. Our lockable trolleys, for efficient storage of things like hand and machine tools, are fitted with industrial wheels, which means that they can be moved around easily on all surfaces. We also offer warranties on our products.

Strength but lightness of the product is very important to Modul-System isn’t it?
Yes. Our racking products are produced from ultra-high strength steel, which makes them both lightweight and durable. Reducing the total weight of our vehicle conversions is vitally important to us as customers demand the maximum payload possible. All products have been designed to withstand the forces they will be subjected to in a moving vehicle, our products are thoroughly tested for load capacity and collision strength, and comply with the European TÜV standard. As well as crash testing we perform technical simulations using design software.

What about flooring?
We no longer use traditional wooden floors and linings, as we have our own modular lightweight flooring. Products are installed using very adhesive glue, which is stronger than nuts and bolts. It means that no drilling through the vehicle body is necessary, which eliminates the risk of corrosion. This is a new type of van flooring, lining and installation system for commercial vehicles.

Why should operators choose Modul-System products?
Our designers can create van racking systems to suit the individual requirements of the customer and are able to design and fit racking using advanced CAD software. We take the time to understand each of our customer’s requirements and aim to lower the total cost of ownership for fleets.
