Motus Truck & Van has opened its new Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealer facility in Witham, Essex.
The three-acre site, located alongside a stretch of the A12 between Chelmsford and Colchester, is now open from 6am on Mondays until 10pm on Fridays, and on Saturday mornings.
The 2,500 sq m building features a fully equipped workshop with nine full-length truck and trailer bays – three of which have 22-metre pits – with another eight set aside for van maintenance and repairs.
There is also an Authorised Testing Facility for DVSA inspectors to carry out truck MOT tests.
Its reception area includes rest and meeting facilities, and there is a 700 sq m parts department which carries stocks of Mercedes-Benz genuine parts.
A team of parts specialists based at the branch will make deliveries to maintenance facilities, garages, mechanics and others throughout Essex, Suffolk, and parts of Hertfordshire.
In addition, four fully equipped Sprinter vans have been allocated to technicians who will provide emergency roadside breakdown assistance, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Motus Truck & Van has nine branches in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire that represent the Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle brands.
Lee Seward, Motus Truck & Van MD, said: “We began construction work just under a year ago, but this project has been a lot longer in the planning.
“This is an important area in which Mercedes-Benz has not previously been represented.
“It sits between our dealerships in East Anglia and at West Thurrock, and is going to play a big part in our growth strategy.”
