A facility dedicated to the maintenance and repair of Mercedes-Benz vans has opened in Dorset.
Sandown Van Centre, located just off the main A3049 in Poole, features an alignment bay and an MoT lane for testing Class 4 and 7 vans.
The 12,000 sq ft building includes a workshop with six ramps and space for another two.
As a Mercedes-Benz Electric Van Centre, the facility is also equipped with four AC charging stations, while pre-wiring has been installed for another three including a rapid DC point.
The site also offers drop-and-go, collection and delivery services, and a reception area with Wi-Fi access, LED screens and refreshments.
Sandown Van Centre serves the Dorset area northwards of Poole to Amesbury, to Yeovil in the west and Southampton in the east.
The retailer’s team also provide free MobiloVan emergency roadside assistance to drivers encountering issues with their vehicles while travelling in the region.
Sandown has already recruited half a dozen technicians and its van workshop is open from 8am until 6.30pm on weekdays, and until 1pm on Saturdays.
It represents a first venture into the light commercial vehicle arena by the Sandown Group, which has served Mercedes-Benz car customers for more than 40 years.
