As mentioned last week, the Bus and Coach sector is in a parlous state. However, the HGV sector looks to be recovering well, with numbers up 12.9%. Ongoing issues around the supply of semiconductors still cast a shadow of course, but as with the LCV sector, there seems to be an underlying resilience to the market.
If we look over the Channel it’s more of a mixed picture across the main markets. But generally speaking, the heavier the truck, the better the registrations. That raises further questions – after all, with the industry moving to zero emission vehicles by 2040, heavier trucks face the greatest challenges in transitioning away from diesel, with no clear replacement technology yet.
