Cambridgeshire firm Knowles Transport has taken delivery of the first Renaults to join its 120-strong fleet as it aims to improve fuel performance and minimise downtime.
The two T440 6x2s, supplied by Renault Truck Commercials, will move food, drink and ambient goods to retailers across the UK and Ireland.
Knowles Transport, based in Cambridgeshire, operates seven warehouses across East Anglia, with back-up services for its new trucks to be provided by WTL Truck and Van Centre.
The T440s feature optional extras that include luxury seats and a leather steering wheel.
There is also a convertible upper bunk, roof console with four storage compartments and doors, four-point cab air-suspension with ride-height control system, audio, navigation and entertainment system, Roadpad+ and Eco drive control with Optiroll, a controlled free-wheeling mode.
Alex Knowles, Managing Director, said: “I’ve worked with Dean Hall (Renault Trucks salesman) before and he clearly understands our business and its requirements.
“When Dean explained how the Renault Trucks T will work well in our operation, including fuel performance which is the sweet spot for our fleet, I trusted his judgement and was convinced to give them a trial.”
“Making sure our vehicles are out on the road, with minimal downtime, is key and Renault Trucks was able to tick all the boxes, offering timely pick up, good communication with the workshop and efficient replacement of parts.”
