What does Van Guard do?
We are a van accessory manufacturer and make a range of commercial vehicle accessories, including roof bars, van racking, pipe carriers, van locks and security products. The company is based at Exeter Airport Business Park, in a fully equipped 35,500 sq ft factory and offices, and we have excellent transport links to the whole of the UK.
We are a Member of the Made in Britain campaign and are proud that our products are made in the UK.
Give us details about your new ULTILadder product?
The ULTILadder rear door ladder has had an upgrade and is now constructed from lightweight yet robust aluminium, powder coated in black to help with anti-corrosion. The bespoke steel brackets ensure it fits tight and securely to the van. The design allows for quick and easy installation, with a fitting time of 20 minutes, and no assembly of the product is required.
Not only have we cut down the fitting time from our previous rear door ladder design but the new ULTILadder is now vehicle specific. The design takes into account the variations of rear doors and the bracketry accordingly.
Tell us about Van Guard’s new ULTIRack+ roof rack?
The new ULTIRack+ represents one of the most advanced roof racks on the market. As with its first generation predecessor, the ULTIRack+ inherits a sleek aluminium alloy design, made to measure foot packs, multi-use side channels and full width rear roller but now includes a cross bar system at the heart of every system.
And what about the new and improved hooklock product?
The ULTILock Hooklock is the first Gold Standard Sold Secure van Hooklock on the market. Since its release back in October, it’s garnered much attention from new locksmiths and has been welcomed by Van Guard’s existing fitting customers for its significantly enhanced security features.
The product has been vigorously tested and it has been awarded the Secured By Design award, as it meets the security standards and product requirements set by Secured By Design – the official police security initiative which has the specific aim to reduce crime and help people live more safely. This award gives tradespeople the extra confidence that they have a high quality, secure hooklock, fitted in their van.
