How pleased is Isuzu to have won the best pick-up at the What Van? awards this year?
We are extremely proud to retain the Pick-up of the Year Award from the renowned Commercial Vehicle experts at What Van?. Now having collected the award for five of the last six years, it is a real reflection of how well received the Isuzu D-Max has been, especially with this latest generation. Suffice to say, it is time to celebrate!
What are the main safety features of the D-Max?
The Isuzu D-Max has class-leading safety features thanks to advanced Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) and with it a five-star Euro NCAP rating, a first for a pick-up in the UK. As part of the ADAS functions, every Isuzu D-Max features Forward Collision Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, Manual & Intelligent Speed Limiter, along with Lane Departure Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking, making it the safest choice in the sector for both retail and fleet purchasers.
Tell us the difference between the Business, All-Purpose and Adventure specs?
The Business range includes the Utility specification and is available in single, extended and double-cab versions. Aimed with the fleet market in mind, the business range includes features such as wipe-clean vinyl floor covering, hard-wearing cloth upholstery and automatic headlights & windscreen wipers. The All-Purpose range includes DL20 and DL40 versions, which are more aimed at retail customers and those looking for the qualities of a true workhorse, but also some added comfort and stying specification such as heated front seats, alloy wheels and chrome detailing.
The DL40 then adds more SUV-like specifications such as a leather interior, keyless entry with keyless start and a multi-function touchscreen system. The Adventure range includes the top-selling V-Cross variant, with premium specification features such as a gun-metal grey interior and exterior styling elements, along with an eight-speaker sound system.
Describe the D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35?
Well, it’s a very special vehicle that’s been designed to tackle the extremes by the team at Arctic Trucks, which specialises in producing vehicles to reach the most inaccessible and extreme areas on the planet. This halo model for the brand is built on the highly successful D-Max V-Cross and is far from a pick-up fitted with big wheels and arch extensions. Each D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35 is professionally re-engineered, incorporating significant enhancements to the bodywork, frame, drivetrain, suspension, wheels and tyres. Importantly, the D-Max AT35 retains Isuzu’s five-year/125,000-mile warranty and also its commercial vehicle status, with no compromise to payload or towing capacity.
How important is SMMT membership to Isuzu?
SMMT is one of the most influential trade associations in the UK and is at the heart of the UK automotive industry. As our voice and link to government and regulatory authorities, the role that SMMT plays for all vehicle brands and associated companies in the industry cannot be underplayed, as they are a vital link for us all.
