Tell us a bit about the history of System Edström?
System Edström was founded in Sweden in 1958, by Ulf Edström. The company has been in the UK for more than 30 years now, and we’re going from strength to strength. Our focus now is to increase awareness of our products and services and become the first choice for van racking.
What sort of van conversions does the company typically carry out?
We provide internal van racking solutions for mobile operators in a range of industries, from plumbing to engineering, construction, utilities companies, local authorities and many more. Because our modular racking units are so versatile, we can design systems that meet a customer’s needs, whatever industry they’re in.
In the UK, the majority of our work is for leasing companies, fitting out vans for their clients’ fleets. We offer a complete one stop shop solution. Our installations start with shelving and drawers which allow users to organise all their tools and equipment officially and securely. But we provide much more than just storage solutions. On-board power supplies, lighting, hygiene facilities – in fact, just about anything a user needs to do their jobs. The aim is to convert each van into a complete mobile workplace. All this work is carried out at our headquarters in Northamptonshire.
We also work closely with our network of dealer partners across the country, who work with their own clients to install our products in vans.
Tell us about the van configurator customers can use.
Our online configurator is called Drop and Draw, or DnD for short. It’s a really intuitive tool that customers can use to design the ideal racking solution for their vans. It’s arranged by manufacturer, so they can simply choose the brand, then model, then start populating the interior of the van with all the items they need for their vans. All they do is drag the pre-designed pack or item onto the van interior and build from there. They can get a 3D view of how their system will look in the van and save the design for when they order, either directly through us or with one of our dealer partners.
What will System Edström be showcasing on its stand at the CV Show?
This is the first time we’ve exhibited at the CV Show since 2019, so we’re really glad to be back. For us, this year’s show is all about connecting with our customers and colleagues in the industry, and meeting lots of new customers, hopefully.
We’ve tried to make the stand welcoming, encouraging people to come along and take a good look at our products. We’ll also have a live DnD demonstration going on throughout the show, so people will be able to see how it works and just how straightforward it is to design their perfect van racking system.
How important is the CV Show to System Edstrom?
The CV Show is, without doubt, the biggest event of the year. It’s a great chance for us to reach out to people and get our brand in front of even more people. We’re looking forward to the three days and can’t wait to welcome visitors to our stand, 5C12.
