The VSIWG comprises of SMMT members actively engaged in the innovation and development of vehicle security systems. Furthermore, members engage the Insurance Industry to influence vehicle insurance group ratings.
Third parties such as Thatcham and the ABI, may be invited to meetings to discuss specific agenda items. The VSIWG aim to promote one set of harmonised technical requirements on a global scale, whether for legislation, standards and insurance.
The VSIWG aims to reflect the needs of the different categories of vehicles and devices whether original equipment or for the aftermarket. In addition, the VSIWG provides support to members in technical areas concerned with vehicle and component security.
