Trade mission to Green Car Korea

1 – 6 July 2018
Seoul and Gwangju

South Korea has rapidly grown to be an automotive powerhouse, producing 3.85 million cars in 2016 making the country the world’s fifth largest auto maker. Korean companies are now developing the next generation of electric and autonomous cars and are interested to see what the UK has to offer.

From 1 – 6 July 2018 SMMT will take a group to Seoul for meetings with OEMs and suppliers, followed by a visit to an EV cluster and exhibition in Gwangju.

UK delegates can expect:

  • A reception and networking opportunities in Seoul
  • Visits and one to one meetings with Korean OEMs, suppliers and other companies
  • An exhibition presence at the Green Car Korea exhibition in Gwangju
  • Support from the SMMT and Department of International Trade in Seoul

The visit is an ideal opportunity to understand the Korean automotive sector, make contacts and identify opportunities.

Companies with EV, CAV and advanced engineering capability are encourage to attend.

Price and financial support

£1,995 +VAT including 1 x economy class air ticket and 2-3 nights hotel accommodation in Gwangju. There is no further charge for the exhibition presence, companies will be offered a ‘pod’ as part of a UK branded pavilion.

An administration charge of £750+VAT will apply to companies who are not SMMT members.

Grants:

Department for International Trade (DIT) Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP) grants worth £1,500 are available for eligible exhibitors.  SMMT can advise on eligibility.

Free flights and accommodation offer and grant support is limited so early application is encouraged.
