The EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) will require companies importing certain goods into the EU to pay higher tariffs for high carbon products. This legislation has been implemented to ensure that imported polluting products, including those manufactured in more polluting environments, don’t disadvantage EU manufacturers, as well as help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This has potentially significant implications for those imports and exports to the EU.

The webinar will also explore the US Inflation Reduction Act (USIRA), which is the most significant climate legislation in US history. It offers funding and incentives to accelerate the transition to net zero, while also encouraging US innovation, productivity, and economic competitiveness. However, this could have a considerable impact on non-US companies.
