“The UK bus and coach sector saw solid growth in June, up more than 90%, as operators pulled forward orders ahead of the London 2012 games,” said Paul Everitt, SMMT Chief Executive. “Despite fragile economic conditions, overall bus and coach registrations have enjoyed nine consecutive months of growth, with registrations rising 60% in the first half of 2012. While maintaining this momentum will be tough, the tangible benefits provided by the latest technologies entering the market will continue to attract operators seeking to boost the efficiency and affordability of their fleets.”
