“2012 was a bumper year for the UK bus and coach sector, with registrations rising 34.2% to more than 8,000 units,” said Paul Everitt, SMMT Chief Executive. “Despite economic concerns, new opportunities arising from the London 2012 Games and the continuation of government incentives helped the bus and coach market achieve significant growth in the year. The fourth round of government’s Green Bus Fund will come into effect in May, which is expected to provide stimulus to retain market strength.”
