Bus and coach registrations declined 22.8% to 1,034 units in March.

Commercial vehicle registrations rose 8.1% in March to 48,675 units, year-to-date up 7% at 78,942 units.

SMMT has published Electric and Alternatively-Fuelled Vehicle registration figures for March and the year-to-date.

UK new car registrations rose 5.9% in March with 394,806 registrations of 13-plate cars.

A nationwide campaign to help motorists reduce MOT failures is launched today

Today, SMMT released figures for February pre-registrations in the UK new car market. The data shows the number of cars disposed of by vehicle manufacturers in February 2013 that were defined as pre-registrations.

BMW Group UK marked 100 years of car manufacturing in Oxford today, where Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin was joined by Harald Krueger, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, to open a centenary exhibition at the new Visitor Centre at MINI Plant Oxford. A classic Mini and a new MINI Hatch are also on display in SMMT’s Westminster exhibition space to mark the occasion.
